Hari and Hara - One God with 2 forms

Hello guys, I am back with my old article ЁЯШЭ . I thought I can put across to you my views on two of the most popular gods of the Hindu Traditions – Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu. Before I express myself, I would like to make everyone know that I have no intentions to hurt anyone or anybody’s beliefs. If you feel that my views have hurt you…please do let me know, I shall personally apologise! And I am very open to criticism! Do let me know if I am wrong! I am still a learner . P lease do read my review and comment. Shiva and Vishnu…. two gods who bind us together in different forms! It might not be true in our generation but there was rivalry among Shaivites and Vaishnavites as to who of the two Lords was greater in our past. One would say Shiva and another would say Vishnu. Each wanted to prove “their Lord” greater than the other. Being a girl from a Shaivite family myself, I was never exposed to this kind of rivalry. My family brought me up to worship both gods with equal devotion a...

Shani - The Fruit Giver

SHANI Hello Everyone, I'm back with a new post after a long time, on someone who I recently started respecting a lot. No offence to anybody's beliefs and views. I've just brought out my opinions. You are welcome to agree or disagree. Please express your views so that I may learn too :) Happy Reading, Soups :) India is a land of numerous Gods, Goddesses and cultures. A part of the culture of Indians is to follow rituals with utmost care, respect and complete devotion. But most rituals have some superstitions associated with them. Daily life in the earlier Yugas in India, involved households and people following certain superstitions with great fear. Some Examples of Superstitions are: 1. "Shagun" or money given as gift needs tobe given with an extra rupee, Rs 21, Rs 501 for instance. 2.  Mothers apply Kohl or Kajal to ward off evil spirits from their children. 3. Getting hiccups is a sign that someone you know is thinking about you. 4. Whi...

рдЬрдпрддु рднाрд░рддрдо् - On the Eve of Independence Day 2016

Many say 'IT' is the land of crime! Many say 'IT is the land of corruption! Many say 'IT' is the land of rape.......but I say 'IT' is my JANMABHOOMI, my motherland, MOTHER INDIA, which I shall for ever be proud of! Today on the eve of the 70th Independence Day of India, I want to express myself on what I think of my motherland. And please bear with me! It's going to be a very very very long article (because I think you can't express love for anything, especially your county in words) and so I've decided to split the whole article into 3 parts...... and hopefully I can touch all hearts of us Indians! :) All of the topics in the first article will be in small paragraphs with quick write ups... It'll be better if I just stick to this for now and later add up to this.... so for today it'll be just 1 article on India in extreme brief, the second one on Indian religions (I'll concentrate more on Hinduism, just a small note on the other r...

Yours Truly, Soups :) Cheerio :) The ancient Indian  text on Dramaturgy, the Natyashastra written by Bharatamuni has expounded on the arts of Music, Dance and theatre of which in dance, the Abhinaya or expression part plays a vital role of the performance. Expression of the face, eyes, eyebrows and different body movements are important in Abhinaya. The facial expressions are usually around the “NAVARASAS” or nine emotions of any human being. These basic nine emotions are such which any human experiences in his or her life, there is no chance that any human ...

Is Sibling Rivalry a cause of destruction?

Hey again my lovely family, I'm Soups back with a new write up! Hope you'll like this! And as I've said before….please please criticise me if I'm wrong! I still need to Learn a lot! And any extra thing you would like to add on…please feel free :) and if I've hurt you, please please forgive me…I shall apologise from the bottom of my heart. Happy Reading…and a Very happy Vishu and New year to all :) Siblings have a lot to do in our lives. Be it happiness, anger, jealousy or anything…we usually share it with our siblings. Today I would just like to put forth my views on only Sibling Rivalry and not on love between siblings. Our Puranas are a proof to what sort of sibling rivalry and love existed among different creatures of the world. The greatest ever sibling rivalry anybody can think of is that of the Devas and Asuras. Born out of the same father, Sage Kashyap,  their rivalry continued from the source being the rivalry between their respective mothers, Aditi an...
